Abstract: Collection, validation, accuracy checking, and matching of information for individuals, e.g., in-scope people entering/exiting a country is described. The systems, techniques, devices, methods, and approaches described herein can be used to collect biographic, biometric, and travel information for persons who enter a country with the expectation that the person will eventually exit. The system and method described herein include structures and procedures for determining whether the individual, based on his/her information, meets a predefined criterion that is associated with predefined procedures, e.g., special precautions are to be implemented. This document also describes how information for an individual can be matched with an existing record in order to ensure accurate recordkeeping.

Abstract: A method (600) for handling a digital payment between a payer (P1) and a payee (P2) is presented. The payer and payee communication devices (PD1, PD2) uses (610) short-range data communication (SRDC) when the devices are in proximity of each other to agree upon a digital payment (DP) without requiring long-range data communication with a remote digital payment settlement service (DPSS) at that stage. Independently of the other device, the payer communication device (PD1) or the payee communication device (PD2) subsequently communicates (630) buffered digital payment information (DPI) to the remote digital payment settlement service (DPSS) by long-range data communication (LRDC1, 15 LRDC2). Abstract: A card with an embedded location tracker that can assist with locating a misplaced, lost, or stolen card is described. The location tracking device is embedded into the material forming the card. Other devices can form a crowdsourced network covering a wide geographic area that may be used to detect signals from the location tracking device of the card using a short-range wireless communication technology. When the card becomes misplaced, lost, or stolen, the card holder or the card issuer may use the embedded location tracking device to determine the current location of the card. In one embodiment, a tamper mechanism may also be provided to disable a chip of the card in response to an attempt to deactivate, destroy, or remove the embedded location tracking device from the card.

Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable media are described for using a vehicle as a payment device. Various aspects may include receiving a selection of a stored financial card or financial account at a vehicle head unit. The selected financial card or financial account may be transmitted to a point-of-sale (POS) terminal for making a payment by transmitting a tokenized card number to the POS terminal. The tokenized card number may be transmitted over a very short-range communication link to ensure that the transmission is secure. For example, electronic circuitry may be attached to the exterior of the vehicle, where the electronic circuitry may be within a threshold distance (e.g. one inch, three inches, six inches, one foot, three feet, etc.) of the POS terminal. The tokenized card number may be transmitted from the vehicle head unit to the electronic circuitry and then to the POS terminal.

In the case where a network separation occurs and the device and SaaS databases diverge, the synchronization method may be used to make the mobile device database and the SaaS database consistent and coherent again. In one embodiment, multiple local database tables are used to represent a single SaaS CRM table to facilitate synchronization, and a status indicator is used to visually and quickly convey status to the mobile user.
