  • Patent number: 12177669
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device in which a processing system of a remote entry system selects a first circuit from a plurality of circuits of a key remote from the device; wirelessly transmits a first challenge signal to the key, the first challenge signal specifying the first circuit; and wirelessly receives a first response signal from the key, the first response signal having a first response signal power level and a first response signal delay with respect to the first challenge signal. The processing system analyzes the first response signal by comparing the first response signal power level and the first response signal delay respectively with a predetermined first signal power and predetermined first time delay associated with the first circuit; and, in accordance with the comparing, determines whether to enable the entry system. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 12115936
Abstract: A distributed biometric vehicle entry system is configured to provide personalized biometric authentication for vehicle entry. The system utilizes an authentication token private key challenge generated a biometric wireless vehicle entry keypad, or a passive device such as a smartphone or fob, such that it would be insufficient for an intruder to simply jump the circuit with an external battery. The biometric authentication may be localized to an embedded system within the biometric vehicle entry keypad, and may be self-contained from all other vehicle systems with a wireless vehicle interface and independent power supply. The vehicle may grant access responsive to receiving the authentication token (and only the authentication token) whenever a valid biometric signature is recognized.

  • Patent number: 12106619
Abstract: The server device includes an acquisition unit, a user database, an attendee management database, and a processing unit. The acquisition unit acquires biological information for each of a plurality of users using an entry/exit management system. The user database associates the biological information with user IDs respectively identifying the users and stores the same. The attendee management database associates the user ID corresponding to an attendee in a restricted area, into which entry and exit is restricted, with position information for the attendee, and stores the same. The processing unit transmits the position information of a meeting candidate, who a visitor wants to meet, to an authentication terminal. The authentication terminal is a terminal which, if an authentication using the biological information recorded in the user database is successful, permits a successfully authenticated user to enter the restricted area.

  • Patent number: 12086674
Abstract: An RFID system comprises an array of antennas each configured to emit a plurality of beams in different directions. The beams of each pair of adjacent antennas are directed towards one another and overlap. A pair of adjacent antennas transmits simultaneously and the overlapping beams interfere to create an interference pattern. An RFID reader controls the relative phase and/or frequency of the beams to move the interference pattern to read an RFID tag within the moving pattern. As the chance of a RFID tag responding to an emitted beam generally increases with signal strength of the reader beam an area of constructive interference means that RFID tags in that region are more likely to respond to the signal. The system can cover a large proportion of the area below ceiling-mounted antennas, where cover generally means that RFID tags in that area will be successfully read.
